One of the convenient aspects of Makumbura (MMC), a hub for highway buses, is the abundance of dining options.

Inside the MMC building, there are small local kiosk-like shops on both the first and second floors.

They offer light meals and essential items, and there is also seating space available, making it a perfect spot to take a breather.

This is the kiosk located on the first floor. It sells items that you don't typically see in supermarkets, making it quite enjoyable to explore.

On the second floor, there is a waiting area equipped with books and newspapers for reading, and the tables are spacious and thoughtfully arranged. However, when I was there, no one was using the area.

At the end of the second floor, there is another shop, which has a more local atmosphere compared to the one on the first floor.

You can also order Sri Lankan-style rice and curry here, and the prices are comparable to those in town.

It seems that many people feel more comfortable with familiar styles, as this spot was bustling with people enjoying their meals.

Now that I've had a light meal, I step outside.

I wonder if the reason MMC feels so comfortable and pleasant is because of the "festive atmosphere" that hub stations seem to have. It feels like the excitement of many people heading out on trips or returning to their hometowns makes this place bright and lively.

When you exit MMC, with the main building behind you, you'll find the familiar pizza chain "Pizza Hut" on the right side, and on the left side, there's the open-style food court "Seven Waves."

I was granted permission to take photos by the manager here (she's young!). When I spoke with her, I found out she is the daughter of the owner of "Sasha," a popular food court in Negombo often used by tour operators.

Speaking of Sasha, it's a food court that I think no tour drivers or guides in the Negombo area would be unaware of, as it's a common spot to take guests.

Ah, so it's a sister store of Sasha—no wonder the atmosphere feels so familiar.

Seven Waves seems to target a more middle-class clientele.

It even has a VIP room, and the floor is staffed by elegantly dressed hostesses who provide attentive service. No wonder the parking lot was filled with luxury cars!

In the center of the floor, there is a juice bar.

The food court offers a variety of cuisines, including Sri Lankan (with a buffet option for 880 rupees), Indian, Italian, Chinese, and American fast-food style options. There's also a juice bar and a coffee bar, making it a comfortable and enjoyable spot!

When heading home from the Galle direction, I usually exit at the Kottawa Interchange nearby, thinking, "I'm almost home," and pass by without stopping here. I had always been curious about this place and wanted to visit someday, and I finally got the chance this time.

It's a great spot to take a break after a long drive on the highway, and I highly recommend it to tourists as a place to know, especially when paired with MMC.
